The Adventures of the Snow Family

Max and Mom have been traveling for the past two weeks (the last couple of days Clu joined us). I now know how hard it is to travel with a new baby. I am REALLY glad to be home, but we had a wonderful time while we were gone. We started our trip in St. George where we babysat Emma and Alyvia. We then spent more time in St. George, but just at Nanny and Papa's. Clu joined us after being there for 10 days and we headed to Window Rock, AZ to visit Clu's family. After leaving Window Rock we went to Mesa Verde National Park for a pit stop. These are our stories.....

Babysitting Emma & Liv:

We spent a couple of days with the girls. Max did not know what to do with all the attention. He was always getting kissed and loved (even while he was trying to eat, which he did not like). Atia was nice enough to let us go swimming in her wonderful pool -

It was a blast! (Emma and Zac taking a dip in the pool)

Liv and my dad relaxin' after playing in the pool.

Max, Dodger and Nanny in the air conditioning (Max had had enough of the hot - he is just like his dad).

Tom and Britt we hope you had a great trip, cause we had a blast while you were gone!

Nanny & Papa's:

It is always so much fun to go to my parents house. They are so good to us and I don't have to worry about keeping a clean house. We got to see the remodeling they did (it looks great!) We had a wonderful time visiting and being smothered with love!

Max found a friend, in which he was very intrigued

Max and Aunt Tia
For family home evening we cleaned the boat - Max and I helped and started a water fight in which I we didn't get wet Thanks Max- good idea!
Zac, Marcus and my dad (bet they didn't know this was going on the blog...maybe next time they will smile).
We even got to spend an afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa E. We just love going to great grandma and grandpa's they always make you feel so special! Another treat was getting to see Great G&G Stucki who were up from the Vegas temple and Great G&G Squire. We love to visit family while we are down.

My New Do!
Clu's cousin Alicia was nice enough to cut Max's hair while we were down. He was really starting to look like a girl. We would be at a store and we would be asked "how old is your little girl" I would politely reply “HE is 3 months old” they would apologize and say he is so beautiful they thought he was a girl. I would say that the hair throws you off, but now hopefully because it has been cut it won’t throw them off anymore. Aunt Tia came along to help with Max and take pics. Thanks T!

(Before the haircut)

"Honestly...do you really have to take this picture? This is so embarrassing!"

During the cut - Preston is keeping Max entertained :)

Max has his very own stylist!! Lucky kid!! (After the haircut with Alicia)

Time just flies! Before we knew it we had been in St. George for 10 days and it was time to head to Window Rock, AZ.

Window Rock, AZ:

We don't get to Window Rock nearly enough and so it was a treat to see Clu's family. They were so excited to see little Max and even threw us a surprise baby shower! We were not expecting that and barely had enough room to fit everything in the car. Everyone there was so generous and kind! THANK YOU! Clu's mother just loved little Max and couldn't get enough!

Clu's Mom, Gloria with Max

Clu's Aunt Evelyn and Max

Clu's niece, Emily, Megan & Clu's oldest sister Jennifer. (Emily has the cutest smile...when she smiles, she winks at the same time).

Clu's younger sister, Cassandra

(side note: we stopped to run into Wal-mart in Page, AZ to buy some tylenol and while we were there I ran to use the bathroom. Clu was holding Max and a woman came up to him and rubbed Max's head and said "Oh look at the cute little Indian boy." She asked Clu if he lived there and he replied "No, I am from Salt Lake." She said "Oh, I feel stupid now." It is amazing what people dare to say to others.)

It was time to say our goodbyes and get back on the road.

Mesa Verde National Park:
Mesa Verde was the first national park in the U.S.. It in Southwest Colorado and is also the nation’s largest archaeological preserve and features 4,000 known archaeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings from the pre-historic Ancestral Puebloan people. It was breath taking! We will for sure be going back. We could only do one of the hikes because Max was to little. Next time we will be able to see more of the park.
This is one of the cliff dwellings that you can view over the canyon (most are like this, I think that you can only hike to about 5 or 6 cliff dwellings) The Fam, with the canyon view behind, Max is just glad to be out of the car.
Max loved the hike. He was really good in the park. Clu and Max at Spruce Tree Dwelling.
Megan coming out of the Keva.
Spruce Tree Cliff dwelling. They are so amazing! You will see these little dwellings half way up the Cliff. They must've really been in shape to be able to climb up to these with food and water! I am thankful for all that I have and that I don't have to do that!Hiking back out of the canyon
Spruce tree dwelling behind M&M
Our last pit stop was to see the Monticello, Utah temple. It was a beautiful sight. We were only able to walk around the outside, because it was Monday and of course closed.

Max's view of the whole Trip:

"I think I got the worst seat of this trip! I speak SHOTGUN on the next trip!"

Max was such a sport. He was really good with all the traveling, getting in and out of the car, having people he did not know hold him and sleeping in unfamiliar places. What a champ!

WOw, great adventure. Don't worry about the girl comments, my boys get them all the time and I think it is a compliment. You don't want someone to say your girl looks like a boy though. Max is so stinkin cute, can you just mail him to us?

Looks like you had a fun trip! Visiting St. George was always so fun when we were living away...

And everyone thought Mackay was a girl too; even when he was decked out in blue! I really think it is all the hair - it must confuse people.:<)

You packed a lot of fun into those days. Max is well traveled already! We are glad you are back, now if we can just get together and get caught up on hugs and stuff.
PS Nice job on the blog Megan!

WOW! What a trip! I missed you all and I'm glad you are back in SLC! You did a great job with all the photos and looks like you had a great time.
I didn't know if I wanted baby Max to have a haircut, but it looks great!
Love you ...

In fourth grade I got to go to Mesa Verde. It really is awesome! And before Marek's hair cut, we got a lot of girl comments too. I think Max is all boy, though, and really handsome!

My girls get/got the "What a cute little boy!!" comment. More with Sonora since you couldn't see her hair and I didn't know where to find cute hair accessories yet. I just don't see how PINK can be misconstrued as a boy color...??!?!

You guys had such a wonderful vacation it looks like! What fun and Max was such a trooper!
