Party, Party, Party!

We had a little party for Max to celebrate his brithday. Here are a couple of pictures from all the fun.
Opening presents:
Playing with all the great toys:
Time for cake:
We weren't very good at documenting everyone at the party (sorry), but thank you, G&G Snow and Nana Deb. Max hasn't stopped smiling or playing with the toys...even when he is in bed.

Baby Max

This little bugger turned 2!
How did he go from this:

To this:

in only 2 SHORT years.

He had his doctor's appointment and he is doing amazing! He is only 15% for weight and 75% for height (like always). I told the doctor that he takes after his grandpa and told him about my dad. He said that he might have a little more "meat" than my dad.

Makin' Cake

This morning started off with a few hitches. Max was grumpy and whinned about everything. He finally agreed to get dressed (we had to run an errand), but half way through dressing, he was done. He was left in his shorts and onesie. I gave up and decided to try and get myself ready and give him a break. A few minutes later he brought in his robot pj bottoms and wanted them on. So I reluctantly agreed (fearing I might not get them off of him) and we put them over his shorts. After that he was magically happy. He figured he was dressed: diaper, onesie, shorts and pj bottoms. We were NOT going out with him in his pj's so I decided to start on the cupcakes for the party. Max sat on the counter and "helped" make the cake. We put the cupcakes in the oven and let them cook (or burn...twice). My oven is so broken! The bottom burns and the top never cooks...ugghh. So Max and I headed off to the store (I finally got him changed) to buy a cake for our party. What a day that is not even close to being over. I am sure that it will end wonderfully after our little party.

Mother's Day

Thank you to my wonderful BOYS, it is just what I wanted!

hair

Max loves going to nursery and as we were getting ready for church today Max was being a little squirmy. I told him to hold still so we could get ready for nursery. That was the wrong thing to say because after that he was in a big hurry to go to nursery. I said "let's comb your hair". He told me, "no, Max". So I gave him the comb and this is what we got. He was SO proud of himself that he stood in front of the mirror repeating Max comb and would laugh.

Race for the Cure

I have had many requests to post these photos and I am now getting to them, due to some unforeseen circumstances I haven't been able to post.

We didn’t have a Mother’s Day at our house we had a whole Weekend! The festivities began on Friday night when we arrived at G&G Snow’s to spend the weekend. Max gave grandma part of her mother’s/g-ma’s day gift a little early for the race, a race for the cure T-shirt that we made for Max to wear (she wanted a shirt for Max but they didn’t have one in his size).
The race was the next morning, up and ready earlier than normal (for Max) was the big event. Max was excited to wear his “special” shirt (which started his love for “special” things- you tell him anything is special and he will immediately want it. Yes, it is good and bad). We raced our hearts out (really had a nice jaunt for all 5 kilometers and made it to the finish line. Nana Deb met us at the finish line for the ceremonies, which is one of my favorite parts.

All of the survivors come in by their anniversary (remission anniversary). (can you find Phyllis). We got to cheer on G-ma Snow and sweet Marion her neighbor. We went to watch Phyllis at the race last year and we loved it so much that we wanted to be a part of it and can’t wait for many more years of not only the Race but with grandma!
After this wonderful morning Clu and Steve went shopping for the Mother’s Day menu (they cooked all the meals) and made a pit stop to the golf store (of course). Phyllis and I had a nice relaxing afternoon and got to sit and visit, I just love to visit with her, she is such great company. That night the boys went to watch Iron Man 2. They love to watch movies.

Sunday we got to sleep in while the boys slaved over the stove for a yummy breakfast of fruit, toast and eggs (Clu knows what I love). We enjoyed reading the newspaper and visiting while Max couldn’t get enough of all the toys. Before we knew it, it was time to head to church. By coincidence Clu, Max and I were coordinated in our attire (I am not that organized for us to match so this was a great opportunity for a quick picture. Attending church with G&G was a real treat. Max got to sit on Grandma’s lap and almost fell asleep. After Church the boys again slaved over the stove and grill (while the girls and Max napped) to give us a wonderful dinner of Steak, veggies, bread and Nana Deb made a delicious chocolate cake.
“All good things must come to an end” and so it was time to head home and back to real life. It was a special treat to spend the weekend with G&G Snow. Living so close, we don’t have “sleepovers” very often, but it made for a perfect weekend….THANKS!

Since we got back from SG Max has taken to wearing sunglasses. The sunglasses he has been wearing came from a kids meal from a fast food restaurant. He puts them on and runs around the house and even insists on wearing them in the store. Well, the other day he came upstairs while I was getting ready and told me "Necklace, Handsome".
I would definitely have to agree. He is sporting the Univ. of Utah necklace that he is wearing loud and proud! He must be his daddy's boy and is getting ready for footbal season.

Showering in SG

In case you didn't know...my sister is having a BABY and is due in June! I am SO jealous...she hasn't thrown up once! Whoever said that sisters normally have the same type of pregnancies...LIED! She got nauseous maybe once and has worked out regularly! I guess we both worked out during our pregnancies but while my workout entailed running to the toilet and mustering enough energy to get back in bed (which didn’t always happen since I would be back at the toilet in less than 5 minutes) she has been running on the treadmill. She is glowing and is measuring right on! We can't wait for this little guy to show his face.

The real reason for my trip to St. George was to organize and give Tia the shower, so the days were mostly spent preparing for the shower. It turned out wonderful (don't mind if I say so). We had a great turn out, many people wanted to come congratulate her. She was so beautiful and sweet!

A couple of quick pictures from the big event:

A quilt made by Grandma E (and will be her last quilt). It is so special and Xavi will love it!Do we look exhausted? I was planning on getting a really cute picture of the two of us (you know one of those sister ones that will show that we kind of look like each other), but I forgot and this is all I had. I guess it doesn't matter cause the party was a hit.

Thank you to everyone who came! She was on cloud 9 the whole time.

The minute that baby thinks he is ready to make his appearance, Max and I will be in the car on our way to SG in 2 seconds (maybe we should have a bag packed just in case).
